Thousandth order for Double D Marine Equipment
Double-D (stand 886) acquired an order of Damen Shipyards at Hardinxveld-Giessendam for the delivery of twelve hydraulic marine cranes. Capacity of the cranes i vary from 80 to 240 Tm. Kees van Dijk is very pleased with this biggest order ever acquired by Double-D.
Furthermore, when booking the order of one of the 240 Tm cranes for Damen Marine Services, the shipping company of the Damen Shipyard Group, he noticed the fact that this was the thousandth order. More reason for a party.
The reason why Damen has chosen for the cranes of Double-D is because of their outstanding after sales and service.Damen hardinxveld is doing well, even though the shipyard experiences quite some problems with the supplies of spare parts.
“At the moment, economy is doing so well that, if we are able to supply our products this automatically means we can sell them”, says the managing director Jos van Woerkum. "We always have ships hulls on stock in our yards and we strive to have sufficient stock of engines as well. Only the difficulty to get the right accessories in order to complete a ship, makes the construction a bit troublesome. Just to acquire a simple little winch takes p.e. thirty weeks and naturally a ship has to be delivered completely.”Photo left: Jos van Woerkum, Kees van Dijk and Wim Crum raise their glasses.
